Bethany Medical Clinic is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Lead Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and serve as an on-site leader for our medical assistant team. This role blends hands-on patient care with team leadership, workflow oversight, a positive patient experience, and collaboration with providers and practice leadership. This role is ideal for a seasoned MA who excels clinically, takes initiative, has experiencing training and mentoring their peers, and serves as a reliable resource for both patients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Patient Care:
- Provide high-quality medical assistant support, including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, administering injections, performing EKGs, phlebotomy (if applicable), and assisting with procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment according to clinic standards.
- Support providers with clinic flow and patient care needs throughout the day.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
Workflow & Team Support:
- Serve as a go-to clinical resource for Medical Assistants during daily operations.
- Support clinic flow by anticipating needs and assisting with room turnover and patient throughput.
- Mentor and support Medical Assistants, including onboarding and training of new hires.
- Identify workflow challenges and proactively propose solutions.
- Reinforce clinical protocols, workflows, and service standards.
- Escalate operational or staffing concerns appropriately to clinic leadership.
- Assist with performance feedback and coaching in partnership with leadership.
Quality & Patient Experience:
- Model professionalism, empathy, and excellent patient communication.
- Support a positive patient experience by addressing basic concerns and questions.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking, and organization of exam rooms.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits as assigned.
- Assist with performance feedback and coaching in partnership with leadership.
Qualifications:
- Certified or registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a multi-provider or fast-paced outpatient setting. Primary Care experience strongly preferred.
- Prior leadership, lead MA, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with providers, staff, and leadership.
- ALS/BLS strongly preferred, other certifications a plus.
- MDland EMR proficiency a plus.
- Experience with multi-specialty clinics a plus.
